Issue 52: Biodiversity

Cyber Plant Conservation Project

Teams of school pupils have the responsibility of planting and caring for rare fruit trees planted in their schools. They learn how to observe and keep a growth record of the trees which is compiled into weekly reports. Each team is allocated space on the CPCP Main Portal (www.cpcp.org.my) where all tree-related information collected is posted in the portal. Each school also has a generic school website which will be personalized to include other information, i.e. about themselves, their teams and their school. To aid the students in their research, they will be provided with both electronic and hard-copy workbooks, comprising both guided (step-by-step) and free form training modules organised along the scientific and environmental themes of the project.
