Making the village global
The village of El Limon in the Dominican Republic has had wireless internet for almost 10 years. The network continues to expand and have a major impact on the education of the local children. Using a variety of innovative technical and social solutions, access is steadily being brought to neighboring villages, stimulating economic development and improving contact with medical services. The system has already proven to be a vital lifeline by providing communication services during recent storms.
