The Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) combats rural poverty in southern Africa by developing holistic approaches to building the capacities of rural districts to plan, drive and sustain their own social and economic development. Its activities focus on community empowerment through their mobilization and participation, economic development, improved health and well-being, and effective capacity development in priority areas.
